• Editor-in-chief of Karakter, a Dutch-language journal with essays about all aspects of science
• Member of the executive committee of the Association for Linguistic Typology
• Member of the board and the general assembly of Academische Stichting Leuven, which provides financial support for young researchers at the University of Leuven
• Coordinator of Science Week at the Arts Faculty of the University of Leuven, which introduces science to secondary-school students
