The following
research groups are part of the research unit: |

| De onderzoekseenheid
besteedt aandacht aan vragen die op een of andere wijze
te maken hebben met de effectiviteit van het
taalonderwijs, of de effectiviteit van het onderwijs
voor zover die aan taal te relateren valt. Dit veld
omvat het onderwijs van de eerste, tweede of vreemde
taal, en kwesties die te maken hebben met instructietaal
en meertaligheid. Voor elk van de genoemde subvelden
gaat de aandacht naar het macro-, meso- en microniveau
van het taalonderwijs. Het macroniveau betreft de
maatschappelijke fundering van het taalonderwijs. Met
het mesoniveau wordt verwezen naar de vormgeving van het
taalonderwijs door de onderwijsondersteuningsstructuur.
Het microniveau, ten slotte heeft betrekking op wat zich
in een concrete taalleersituatie afspeelt. Het centrale
thema van de onderzoekseenheid geeft aanleiding tot
activiteiten op het terrein van onderzoek, onderwijs en
maatschappelijke dienstverlening. |
The research
unit deals with questions regarding
the effectiveness of language education, or the
effectiveness of education in general as far as it can
be related to language. This field encompasses first,
second as well as foreign language education, and issues
regarding language as medium of instruction. For each of
the areas mentioned, language education is addressed
from a macro- , a meso- and a micro-perspective. From a
macro-perspective attention is given to the societal
setting in which language education takes place. The
meso-perspective refers to the way schools and other
educational organisations organise language education.
From a micro-perspective, the Research Unit is
interested in what takes place in the actual classroom.
The central theme of the Research Unit gives rise to a
large number of research projects, teaching and
(teacher) training activities, the development of tools
and instruments enhancing (language) education and
various supportive activities with a strong social
component. |
