NRG4 :: Fourth Circular

NEW REFLECTIONS ON GRAMMATICALIZATION 4

Leuven, 16-19 July 2008

Dear colleague,

The fourth NRG conference is fast approaching, and we are looking forward to a fruitful and rewarding linguistic event. The full programme and all abstracts are available on the conference website. Please find additional information on the conference below.

REGISTRATION

Some of the speakers have not yet registered for the conference. Those of you who have not yet done so are kindly asked to register at your earliest convenience. We would like to close registration for speakers by 15 June. The electronic registration form is available on the conference website.

The registration desk will be located in the entrance hall of the Erasmushuis building (Blijde Inkomststraat 21), which is also where the coffee breaks will take place. Registration will start at 5 pm on Tuesday 15 July, and the registration desk will remain staffed throughout the conference (from 8 am).

LECTURES

All lectures will be held in the MSI-Institute (Mgr. Sencie Instituut), which is in the immediate vicinity of the Erasmushuis.

SOCIAL PROGRAMME

A welcome reception will be held on Wednesday 16 July. The conference dinner will take place on Friday evening, 18 July at the Faculty Club in the historic Begijnhof area. If you want a special diet, please let us know via the registration form.

The post-conference trip on Sunday 20 July will take the whole day. A bus will take the participants to Ghent for a guided boat tour through the historic city centre. The afternoon and evening will be spent in Antwerp for a visit to the Plantyn Moretus museum, a walk through the historic city centre and dinner at the riverside. If you want to participate, please send an e-mail to nrg4@arts.kuleuven.be and pay 75 euros before 20 June (see the bottom of the Registration site for payment details).

TECHNICAL FACILITIES

The lecture rooms on the conference site are equipped with the standard technical facilities: white board or blackboard, overhead projector, computer, loudspeakers and LCD projector. Any other special facilities need to be arranged beforehand, so please inform us of your wishes.

There is also a wireless local area network on campus, so you can access the internet from your laptops provided they are equipped with suitable WLAN cards.
