Laura's research interests mainly lie in the fields of sociolinguistics and language variation and change. Her PhD focuses on language attitudes towards standard and colloquial varieties of Dutch in Belgium and the Netherlands. The aim of the project is to further test and refine the novel auditory affective priming (AAP) technique (Speelman et al. 2013) to measure indirect language attitudes and compare it to traditional language attitudinal methods such as surveys or matched guise experiments.
