Lies Sercu (°1966) is Associate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Leuven. She studied Germanic Languages (English and German). In 1998, she received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Leuven. From 1998 till 2003, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the K.U.Leuven. In 2003, she obtained a tenure post as a junior lecturer at the Department of Linguistics of the K.U.Leuven, and was asked to teach a Master’s course in Second and Foreign Language Acquisition, beside foreign language teaching methodology courses .
