QITL-5: Travel and hotels

Travel information

If you are travelling by plane, you will arrive at Brussels National Airport. From the airport, it is much cheaper to travel to Leuven by train since taxis are quite expensive: a second class train ticket from the airport to Leuven costs 8 Euros, whereas a taxi ride will set you back roughly 60 Euros. A train station is situated below ground level (level -1) at Brussels National Airport and trains leave for Leuven regularly. You can look up train timetables and itineraries, using 'Brussel Nat Luchthaven' and 'Leuven' as departure and arrival cities, from the Belgian Railways site. The trip will take about 15 minutes. At Leuven station, you can take a taxi to your hotel. The fare will probably be something in between 5 and 8 Euros.
